She is also credited with starting an inaugural field hockey program at Ramapo College in 2003. She received Coach of the Year honors for her 2004 efforts at Ramapo College. Coach LaFronz began her playing career at Demarest High School, where she received All-State Honors. She attended Northwestern University on a full field hockey scholarship where she was selected First Team All Big Ten and made Four NCAA appearances. She started her career coaching in 1987 where LaFronz accumulated multiple County Championships and earned repeated Coach of the Year honors. Coach LaFronz also has international coaching experience. In 2008, she is hosting the sold-out World USA Camp with an Elite Dutch Coaching Staff.
VICTOR OCHIENG Olympian/FIH Certified Level II Coach -- Lead Rapid Fire Coach Coach Ochieng competed for the Kenyan National Hockey Team in the 1988 Seoul Olympics and has played in several international tournaments in Europe, Asia and Africa (1986-92). He started coaching in 1992, leading the Sliders Ladies Hockey Club to win the Tour de Paris Hockey Tournament in 1994. As coach, his team earned two gold medals and one bronze medal in the African Continental Club Championships between 1993 and 1996. He then became the Tournament Coach for the Men’s Kenya Armed Forces from 1996-1998 winning continental titles for two years. In 1997, Victor was the Kenya Men’s National Under 21 Coach before becoming Full National Team Coach from 1998-2003.
Guest Coaches TRENT RANDALL Australian Certified Level II Coach Lead Coach for Cape Ann Coalition Coach Randall, who is originally from Australia, boasts of a career spanning 21 years, winning numerous senior titles both as a player and as a coach. He has also been a junior development coach for the South Australian Field Hockey Association. In 1996, Trent spent 2 years playing First Division in the Premier League for Walsall H.C. in the UK and also served as the junior development coach. Finally settling in the United States, Trent plays indoors for the current NAPL Champions Toronto and outdoor hockey for the Boston Minutemen.
CHRISTOPHER POTHIER US National Men’s Team Member Lead Coach Cape Ann Coalition Chris is a native of Sandwich, Massachusetts. A rarity to the game, Chris began his playing career as a prep on the girls’ field hockey team in his hometown in Massachusetts. With few opportunities for boys to compete in the United States, Coach Pothier trained overseas with Sport Euro Tour at the School of Excellence in Paris, France and also another elite camp in Barcelona, Spain. Making the U21 United States National Men’s Team took much hard work and perseverance. Eventually in 2006-2007, Chris made the United Sates Senior Men’s National Squad for the first time. Currently Chris is enrolled at Southern Maine University and is a lead coach for the Cape Ann Coalition.

The Rapid Fire Coaching Staff will be running year-round field hockey programs at the Indoor Sports Pavilion in Randolph, N.J. Leslie LaFronz Owner/Lead Coach Rapid Fire Field Hockey, L.L.C. With over twenty years of coaching experience, Coach LaFronz began an inaugural field hockey program at Ramapo College in 2003. Entering her fourth year as Head Field Hockey Coach, Coach LaFronz has high expectations for her young team. Receiving Coach of the Year honors for her 2004 efforts, Coach LaFronz offers a wealth of field hockey experience. She began her playing career in high school in 1977 and started her coaching career in 1987. Coach LaFronz played at Northern Valley Demarest High School where she received All-League, All-County and All-State honors. Afterwards, she attended Northwestern University on a full field hockey scholarship. With Northwestern, Coach LaFronz made four NCAA Division I appearances, one Final Four appearance, and was named to the First Team All-Big Ten Defensive Squad. She was also a member of Northwestern's nationally ranked (4) lacrosse team where she was selected First Team All-Midwest three years in a row and made three NCAA Division I Tournament appearances. After graduation, she worked on Wall Street before leaving to coach full-time. At Wayne Valley High School, LaFronz spent ten years bringing her team from the bare bottom, to the top. In 1996, she was named County and Conference Coach of the Year and her team conquered the County Championship for the first time in school history. She was also named Passaic County (Star Ledger) Coach of the Year that same year. She received the identical Coach of the Year honors in 2000, 2001, and 2002. LaFronz was also named North Jersey Coach of the Year (The Bergen Record) in 2002 and won the County Championship for the second time in school's history. Coach LaFronz was a United States Olympic Development Futures Coach and is now the owner of Rapid Fire Field Hockey, L.L.C. , a field hockey business that caters to the development of youth field hockey. She has experience coaching in the National Field Hockey Festival and the National Indoor Tournaments, as well as internationally. Most recently, she traveled to Holland in May of 2006 with her college team. She had previously been to Holland, England and Belgium training Sport Euro Tour Athletes. Coach LaFronz has served as President of North Jersey Masters Track and Field Club, was a member of the Haworth Recreation Commission, and is an active player in various field hockey clubs in the Tri-State area. She has run in and finished the New York City Marathon five times and the Boston and Honolulu Marathons with a personal best of 3:20. Victor Ochieng Owner/Lead Coach Rapid Fire Field Hockey, L.L.C. He started coaching in1992 with the Sliders Ladies Hockey Club taking them to the Tour de Paris Hockey Tournament and the African Continental Club Championships. He was also the trainer/coach for the Men's Kenyan Armed Forces Team and in 1997 was the Head Coach for the Kenya Men's National Under 21 Team before becoming a coach for the full National Team from 1998-2003. Returning to Ramapo College for a third season, assistant Coach Ochieng is the driving force behind the team's success. Ochieng's coaching philosophy compliments Coach LaFronz' ideologies. Most recently, Coach Ochieng partnered with Coach LaFronz to coach a Under 19 National Festival Championship Team in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ochieng graduated from Nairobi University, Kenyan in 1990 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He then continued his academic career gaining an M.E. and then his PhD. (ABD) in Civil Engineering in 2002.
