Sonesoccer’s experienced and well-qualified coaches will guide you with a structured, practical program based on the progressive model to help your players’ technique and decision-making. Whatever the age or skill-level of your players, we can coach you to coach your team with a focus on “development through understanding”.
The coaches clinic is designed for people starting out as recreation or travel coaches, looking for guidance in how to fulfill this crucial role as well as possible. The program includes both classroom based work and an element of practice, and concludes by giving all attendees a certificate. The course focuses on the following areas:
- Basic principles of offense and defense, and how to teach them to young players
- Key elements of coaching and teaching, communication and correcting errors
- Basic rules – and how they affect you
- Different formations for different ages – including small and large sided teams
- Differences in coaching boys and girls teams
- how to get the most out of pre-game, half-time and post-game talks
- Ensuring the health, safety and enjoyment of all players
The program offers a way to get the most out of yourself as a coach, as well as out of your players, and offer a jump-start to valuable hands-on experience.
