- 30 or 50 Minute lessons may be scheduled with any of our instructors to work on any aspect of the game.

Our baseball instructors are:

Joe Rief is a well qualified and experienced professional for baseball instruction, education and coaching positions.

• Expert on player education for fundamentals of the game;
• Creative approach to developing proper focus and mindset;
• Effective and documents training and conditioning techniques;
• Focused strategy on tangible improvement in player performance;
• Expert in teaching the art of throwing and hitting a baseball.

Achievements:

• Invitational tryouts with 3 major league teams, including the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Seattle Mariners, and the Los Angeles Dodgers;
• Semi-pro in Metropolitan Baseball League from 1978-1984;
• 4-year baseball scholarship winner to Bloomfield College;
• 1979 Lodi High School Athlete of the Year;
• Selected to All Bergen County team as pitcher;
• Selected to All State second team;
• Assistant Coach at Bloomfield College, NJ 1985-1997
• General team management responsibilities;
• Served as third base coach during season;
• Responsible for infield/outfield and batting practice;
• Head Coach at Paramus Catholic High School, NJ 2005-2007
• Pitching Coach at Bergen Catholic High School, NJ 2007 to Present

West Morris Baseball Academy instructs and develops young players who have a desire to take their game to the next level. We have become Chester and Mendham New Jersey’s premier academy. Our elite staff works tirelessly to produce a great product using hands on instruction, passion and commitment that is second to none. What we do better than other baseball academies is this: WE TEACH…. both the physical and mental requirements to succeed in the game. We also stress the “team concept” of winning. We also use the lessons learned in baseball and softball and apply them to the lessons of life. Parenting is hard enough these days. We strive to teach life’s lessons to our players to help better prepare them for life.

• Founders, Matthew Davidson and Robert Clark share a deep love for baseball and softball. With this passion, they’ve decided to open their own instructional school for developing young players into highly competitive athletes. With the entire staff comprised of former professional and collegiate baseball players, you will not find a better staff to train your child on the fundamentals of baseball and softball.

  All members of our training team are longtime friends who played on the same high school team that won a New Jersey State Championship for baseball. The “team” mentality we share helps establish consistency in our coaching and our philosophy and translates to a program with the same message being heard by our players.
