Indoor Sports Pavilion has just what you need to further your personal or team goals. If you want to train as an individual, we have expert personnel to help your hitting, pitching and fielding, in our full sized batting cages. We have both permanent and portable cages that pull out onto the fields as part of the group practice sessions. If you want to work as a team, ISP has a set-up that can’t be beat—full infields, portable pitcher’s mounds, L- Screens, and anything else you need to run infield and outfield drills. You can hit live on the field space without worrying about poles, beams and other obstructions. Take a look at the set-up…it’s the best around.

Let ISP know what you want as part of your field set-up and the number of sessions you want. We will make it happen. Contact Jeff at jeff@indoorsportspavilion.com

C. There is no on-deck area and the next batter is not permitted to swing the bat prior to approaching home plate.

D. Coaches/parents are responsible for the behavior and conduct of all minors accompanying them to Indoor Sports Pavilion, whether (in the case of coaches) such responsibility relates to participants who are on their team and/or their own children (as the case may be), including respecting compliance with all rules and regulations of Indoor Sports Pavilion.

E. Please minimize the amount of equipment brought into the field as space is limited in the dugout areas. All equipment must be stored in the designated sideline area once play begins.

F. No running, or throwing or kicking of any balls, frisbees, or any other objects, etc.. whatsoever, is permitted in any of the interior areas of Indoor Sports Pavilion other than on the turf field or the tennis courts.

G. Due to limited space, only a third base coach will be permitted on the field during a team's at bat.

H. All batters and base runners must wear helmets at all times. The base coach, if a player, must also wear a helmet at all times. An adult coaching a base has the option, at his/her own risk, respecting the decision to wear a helmet.

I. No more than five (5) warm-up pitches shall be permitted upon a team taking the field. A new pitcher entering the game shall be allowed up to fifteen (15) warm-up pitches.

J. No more than two (2) visits to the pitcher's mound are permitted by any team during the entire game. Time-outs to talk to a batter may be limited in the umpire's discretion and are generally discouraged in the interest of expediting play. The same standard shall be applied to meetings between the pitcher/catcher and any other players on the field.

K. No player may pitch more than three (3) innings (i.e., record nine (9) outs) during any game.

L. A courtesy runner must be used for any player that reaches base and will be catching the next inning his/her team is in the field. The courtesy runner shall be the last player that has made an out.

M. The umpire has full discretion respecting the following:

1) any ball that goes underneath any netting or otherwise disappears from play - - generally, one base shall be awarded;

2) determining whether a ball that gets caught in (and does not release from) the ceiling fabric should be deemed a single or a foul ball (this determination will be made based upon the depth of the hit and the and the prospect of a play at first base on the batter);

3) awarding time to a batter;

4) limiting warm-up between innings;

5) taking steps to address the speed of play (including calling an out against any team that is determined to be delaying play or stalling in any manner);

6) making determinations as to ground rules;

7) determining whether a new at bat may be commenced by a team based upon the governing time limit for the game.

N. Subject to any rules specific to a particular league, any ball that hits the ceiling, a beam or overhead light that is in fair territory is a live ball. The batter will not be out if the ball is caught once it strikes the ceiling, a beam or overhead light in fair territory, but may be thrown out at any base as if the hit was a grounder. All other base runners advance at their own risk under such a circumstance. There shall be no "infield fly" rule.

O. All calls by the umpire shall be honored and respected, without argument. There shall be one (1) umpire for each game who shall be paid directly by Indoor Sports Pavilion.

P. All rules and regulations of the Indoor Sports Pavilion, including, but not limited to, regarding food, gum, and drinks on the field, appropriate footwear and behavior/conduct, etc. must be adhered to without exception. All violations of the rules and regulations shall be strictly enforced.

Specific Softball Rules

A. All bats must be ASA approved by the umpires.

B. Pitchers are allowed to throw 7 innings.

C. In between innings Pitchers will be allowed 3 warm up pitches, the players on defense will not be allowed to throw balls around.

D. No at bat by any team may begin once the umpire determines that no more than three (3) minutes exist for the allocated game time. The scoreboard clock, which shall operate with running time, shall govern the remaining time unless it malfunctions. In the event of a clock malfunction, the time as maintained by the umpire shall be the governing clock and shall not be subject to challenge.

E. If the game time expires as set forth above prior to the home team's at bat in any inning where a) the game has been tied in the top half of that inning or b) the visiting team has taken the lead in the top half of that inning (i.e., situations where the home team did not have an opportunity for an equal number of innings in which to bat), the "darkness" rule shall apply and the final score shall revert back to the score that existed at the end of the last full inning played. There shall be no exceptions to this rule.

F. If a team's at bat began due to the fact that more than three (3) minutes remained on the clock, but express while that team is at bat, the batter shall be permitted to finish his/her turn at bat to the extent that it impacts on the outcome of the game (i.e., a home team that is already ahead shall not be permitted to finish its at bat). The rules as to reverting back to the prior inning (as set forth above) shall be utilized if applicable.

G. No ball that clears the infield as a ground ball or line drive such that it hits any surrounding netting or other barrier may result in the batter being thrown out at first base (unless the batter has rounded first base such that (s)he may properly be tagged out).

H. Indoor Sports Pavilion reserves the right to modify the written rules to address the speed of play ( i.e. beginning with a 1-1 count on the batter, etc...), safety or other ground rules as deemed necessary and appropriate.
